No Need to Get Defensive

Dan Hinkle resides in Virginia. He is the commissioner of the South County Youth Association.

“This entire league exists so he can play defense on the best team in his weight class. . . . He is my son, I own the league, and he plays every snap on defense.”

When Hinkle found out [his son] Scott played offensive guard in the regular season finale, he fired Owens and assistant coach Bill Burnham.

With no coaches, the Raptors can’t go to the playoffs. As a consequence, Hinkle’s son will still not play defense.

Hinkle cops some major ‘tude of truly assholic proportions. Is it too difficult to imagine, if this is the kind of thinking prevalent in the ‘burbs, is it a reflection of the leadership of American society as a whole, or is it just a local phenomenom?

After all, this happened just outside of Washington, D.C.
